Using Action Learning to move your organisation forward.

Action learning involves working on real problems, focusing on learning and actually implementing solutions. Action learning was developed by Professor Reg Revans and has developed worldwide over the last 35 years. Many organisations have found that action learning offers a well-tried method of accelerating learning which enables people to handle difficult situations more effectively.

Learning through knowledge and questioning.

Action learning is based on the concept that Learning requires Programmed Knowledge (i.e. knowledge in current use) and Questioning insight. To be effective, action learning uses a small group to provide challenge and support to each individual as people learn best with and from one another as they each tackle their own problem and actually implement their own solution.

Skilled facilitation.

Action learning is deceptively simple - but - to get the best results with action learning, you really need skilled facilitators, who can handle the process, keep the group on track, be sensitive to what's going on and help people deal with the emotional impact. Effective action learning also needs facilitators who are emotionally independent from the outcome and this is best provided by external facilitation.
